Corrections policy
A transparent process for reporting, reviewing, and recording corrections to election data.
How corrections work
We separate reported figures from editorial interpretation. A correction should identify the exact record, explain what is wrong, and include a verifiable public source. Accepted changes retain the source and access date so the revision can be audited.
Data boundaries
Election results, public office records, and news links can be revised by their original publishers. The directory is not an official election authority, government portal, or legal advice service.
Frequently asked questions
How do I report an error?
Email info@polldata.org with the page URL, the exact field in question, and a public source that supports the correction.
Are corrections applied immediately?
No. Corrections are reviewed against the submitted source, then recorded with an update note when accepted.
Figures are presented for public information and may change as official records are corrected or updated.
